Orange County Afters Ice Cream Afters is known for its signature, handcrafted ice cream stuffed warm donut called the 'Milky Bun,' among many other tasty treats. Basically, it's a food-coloring-blasted take on a classic flavor-cookies and creme-but there's something about that jolt of electric blue that takes you right back to memory lane (AKA Sesame Street). There's another to add to the list, if you haven't already: Cookie Monster. Lately, though, the dessert trends we're noticing online are less flavor-based and are more nostalgia-inducing riots of color (see: unicorn everything, Lisa Frank everything, galaxy everything-to appeal to Bill Nye obsessives everywhere-and the less-old-school-but-still-vibrant Starbucks rainbow drinks that owned Summer Sixteen). Red velvet, s'mores, birthday cake-some classic desserts have grown from stand-alone dishes to encompass an entire category of food, getting reimagined as pancakes, fudge, even loaded fries. ![]()
